About the Role
The Mechatronics/Weld Tech Apprentice supports manufacturing operations by maintaining, trouble shooting and repairing all production welding equipment in a safe manner. The apprentice will receive on the job training and attend Washtenaw Community College and complete the required classes in the Mechatronics Apprentice program as outlined by the company.
Your Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair problems on plant facilities and production equipment in regards to welding. Meaning (GMAW, GMAB, Spot, DAS, GTAW)
- Assists in the implementation and improvements of effective preventative maintenance programs for all equipment, performing scheduled maintenance on facilities and production equipment as required.
- Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints and files in orderly fashion.
- Obtain and attend training for professional development and to stay current on maintenance and safety requirements and other training as required.
- Complete all work in accordance with MIOSHA standards.
- Complete correspondence, forms and reports using computer and required software.
Who we are looking for
- Must have high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools
- Ability to perform minor weld technology tasks (Minor weld adjustments, spot adjustments)
- Ability and licensed to operate a forklift
Your preferred qualifications
Must be able to pass a Mechanical Comprehension test .
