Job Title: Data Analyst – Bernie AI (NWS 00815)
North Wind Services is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the science, technology, and engineering fields as part of our supplemental labor team at vital federal research and development installations supporting the Department of Energy. NWS has an established history of contributing to the success of their customer’s mission. Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.
Successful candidates will be employees of NWS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance the missions of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA. Though employed by NWS, the employee will take day-to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratories. Pay, benefits, Human Resource, and Employment Management functions are provided by NWS.
The Directors Office PAD is looking for a Data Analyst to work within the Laboratory Infrastructure Group to manage and analyze lab data, with a focus on verification and validation of Bernie AI data. The successful candidate will collect, validate, and interpret infrastructure data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for facility planning and improvements. The successful candidate will also help ensure compliance, safety, and data integrity while working closely with technical teams to support Bernie AI's mission.
Essential Duties
- Collect, validate, and curate complex laboratory infrastructure datasets to ensure data integrity and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Analyze infrastructure data to identify trends, assess asset performance, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for laboratory planning and operations.
- Provide supporting evidence through data to assist management with evaluating facility needs, maintenance requirements, and technology upgrades, to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Support capital planning and resource allocation by recommending asset renewal or replacement and optimizing lifecycle management.
- Develop and deliver metric-based reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate infrastructure conditions, trends, and risks to stakeholders at all levels.
- Support implementation of operational standards through data to support best practices to safeguard personnel and assets.
- Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to align infrastructure initiatives with Bernie AI’s mission, enabling innovation and supporting strategic goals.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience analyzing data related to physical infrastructure, facilities, or asset management.
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize large and complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting data to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of infrastructure systems, asset lifecycle planning, or compliance-related activities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience with database structure, design, and querying.
- Familiarity with AI frameworks and basic AI processing concepts.
Desired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Master’s degree or additional certifications in data analytics, operations research, or facilities engineering.
