We've got you covered!We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant with pediatric immunization experience for our Pediatric Office(s) in South Riding and Reston, Virginia. We are looking for various daytime hours during the week and some Saturdays from 8am to 12pm. Our Pediatric office is a GREAT PLACE to work.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures established patient medical records are updated according to practice protocol including progress notes, immunization records, and other information are in place and computer templates are used in EMR (eClinicalworks).
- Greets patients and prepares their immunizations.
- Vaccine Administration: Safely administer age-appropriate vaccines, in accordance with company policies.
- Professionalism: Provide a friendly and timely immunization appointment.
- Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition, adverse reaction to medication or treatment to the provider.
- Provides educational aids and information to parent/patients.
- Maintains confidentiality concerning patients’ medical and financial information. Patient’s protected health and financial information may not be disclosed without prior written authorization from the parent/guardian (or patient if he/she has reached majority).
- Maintains exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness of exam rooms. Assists in care and maintenance of supplies and equipment in clinical area.
- Performs related work as required.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION AND CREDENTIALS:
- High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree preferred).
- 1 year experience in vaccine administration, preferably in a pediatrics.
- Certified Medical assistant
- CPR certified required
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Competency in operating medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Knowledge required to maintain a safe work environment.
- Skilled in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of patient care.
- Possess the ability to maintain quality control standards, react calmly and effectively in emergencies, interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures, communicate clearly, and work effectively with co-workers, while maintaining confidentiality of clinical information.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing.
