Position Summary
The Business Account Manager plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities related to the region/branch recruiting, marketing, business creation and event planning functions. The role is primarily responsible for, under intermittent supervision, for performing a key prospecting role in order to grow the channel’s business by sourcing and signing new customers and originators.
Essential Functions
- Possess a strong understanding of Guild’s products, our competition in the industry and positioning.
- Understand the target markets, including industry, company, company contacts and market strategies that can be used to attract clients.
- Assist management in developing an overall prospecting strategy for the branch/region.
- Create and develop and active pipeline from existing warm leads in order to turn them into successful business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a business network in order to source qualified opportunities for new customers.
- Research prospective accounts in targeted markets, pursue leads and follow through to a successful agreement.
- Effectively include and utilize social media, marketing, and branding campaigns related to client prospecting of new accounts and overall brand awareness with the goal of tapping into avenues that otherwise might be overlooked.
- Actively seek to determine key decision makers in each potential opportunity predominantly in public entities; but also including private when applicable.
- Engage with key decision makers in a manner consistent with producing advantageous outcomes, specifically, securing new customers.
- Effectively source and sign new customers and facilitate the transition to being an active customer delivering loans.
- Perform as technical representative to the customer during the initial contact.
- Consistent with responsiveness to customers’ needs and follow through on all aspects of request, both written and verbal.
- Provide oversight of account and aid in transition (up to 12 months) to ensure success before customer/account is passed onto Account Executive.
- Prepare and report status of prospecting efforts on a monthly basis.
- Stay actively involved in the growth and expansion of the branch or region.
- Present to various groups within the customer’s organization; specifically, meetings and conference calls.
- Attend trade shows along with different conferences, both educational and customer oriented.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree, along with a minimum of three years total experience in varied aspects of the mortgage banking industry preferred.
- Proficiency with data entry, PDF software programs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities; strong detail orientation and highly organized.
- Works with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.

- Demonstrated patience and professionalism when interacting with both internal and external customers.
- Must be able to handle confidential matters with discretion.

Requirements
- Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.
Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse. - Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.
