About the role

The Senior Director, Graduate Student Services manages the portfolio of Graduate Programs and has oversight of program management for MBA, MS, certificate, and corporate partner programs offered at the Graduate School. Additionally, the Senior Director aligns the graduate student experience across academics and life & leadership, fostering opportunities for student engagement across the classroom experience, skill building opportunities, and co-curricular activities. Specifically responsible for coordinating, training, and coaching the staff that play a critical role in assisting students along their Babson journey, and faculty in delivering the core curriculum; leading the strategic planning and goal setting process for Graduate Academic Services and Life & Leadership; developing and overseeing an advising model in partnership with the Division Chairs/Faculty; managing the departmental budgets; substantively contributing to the development and improvement of the various MBA, MS, and certificate programs at Babson College; and working with the Associate Deans to prepare reports regarding student academic progress and elective staff modeling.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Directs the Office of Graduate Student Services, supporting efforts that ensure a positive overall graduate student experience.  

Oversees the Life and Leadership team; ensures unique opportunities for full time, part time, remote, and online students to engage outside of the classroom and enhance their graduate student experience. Ensures strategic alignment between academics and graduate student life, supporting student clubs and organizations, activities, and events.

Oversees the program management of all Graduate School programs, the Certificate of Advanced Management, and Corporate Partner programs; uses knowledge of curricula to provide transitional program management support as needed.

Handles difficult student issues, including working with faculty to address high-level academic concerns; assists with ad hoc academic advising as well as additional elective advising support for all Graduate School programs, Certificate of Advanced Management, and Corporate Partner programs.

Leads the planning, goal setting, and financial management of Graduate Student Services including but not limited to managing forecasting, and adjusting department budgets.

Works with the Director of Life and Leadership to ensure graduate student services is supporting and creating programing in support of DEI practices.

Develops and implements policies, plans, and procedures that positively affect program administration, delivery, and effectiveness. 

Serves as a representative on multiple college-wide and Graduate School committees.

Responsible for special projects to support key initiatives within the Graduate School and the College, as assigned.

Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

MBA Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

A minimum of 10-15 years of related experience.

Excellent organizational skills.

Strong communication skills (writing and verbal).

Strong supervisory skills.

Ability to communicate with people of diverse backgrounds from the general public, all levels of the College, and the business community.

Ability to handle multiple projects with frequent deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Flexibility and willingness to assume new tasks and special projects.

Project management skills.

Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
