Part-Time Training Facility Maintenance Personnel

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the maintenance of the Conroe Fire Department Fire Training Facility (FTF), equipment and training props.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in general maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Special Requirements:

Possession of a valid class C Texas driver's license required. Class B driver's license required within 6 months. Class A driver's license required within 1 year.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of construction techniques.
• Knowledge of electrical systems.
• Knowledge of plumbing systems.
• Skill in working with small engine troubleshooting/repair.
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
• Ability to safely operate a utility type vehicle.
• Ability to safely operate chain saws, power tools and lawn equipment.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is medium and requires the ability to exert up to 70 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping and talking.
