What you'll do

Docusign has consolidated our financial systems to the Oracle Cloud ERP, Procurement and Subscription Management suite of applications. We are in the process of scaling our finance and revenue platform by enhancing the related products, building PaaS and other technology solutions, integrating with 3rd party applications and rolling out the platform globally to support Docusign’s growth.

 

As the Principal, Finance Systems Engineering you will be responsible for collaborating with the Finance, Business Transformation, Enterprise Architecture, Product Management, Program Management, Docusign Product, Global Data & Analytics and Enterprise Integration teams to provide innovative technology solutions to scale our finance and revenue applications.

 

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Director, Enterprise Applications.

 

Responsibility

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business, product management, architecture, and engineering, to architect, design, develop and implement scalable technology solutions for our finance and revenue platforms that meet current and future business needs

• Lead Build vs Buy decision

• Architect, design, and develop custom extensions and code; to implement new features to address product gaps

• Create system flows, technical documentation, solution design documents, and product demos

• Provide technical solutions to platform issues by performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent code fixes, custom extensions, or performance tuning

• Develop, enhance, and maintain integrations with other 3rd party applications using advanced multithreading techniques alongside dynamic caching mechanisms within both scalable (elastic) and fixed (non-elastic) infrastructure environments

• Prototype and assess the feasibility of technical solutions to determine the most viable product

• Negotiate IT commitments, business benefits, and technology options, and propose alternative solutions that balance cost and constraints

• Stay informed on emerging technologies and trends, including AI capabilities around finance applications, to drive innovation and apply/ implement where feasible

• Define, track, and automate key finance engineering metrics to inform data-driven decisions

• Collaborate with internal, external, security, and compliance teams to ensure proper controls and adherence to local regulations for financial systems, including the use of AI-enabled tools

• Influence employees with indirect reporting in a highly matrix organization

• Manage vendors and contractors

• Partner with and support Applications/IT Operations to ensure timely resolution of product bugs

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

• Bachelor's in computer science or related field and 15+ years experience on Tier 1 Finance application (like Oracle Cloud ERP)
• Experience with one or more of the Core Finance and Revenue platforms and applications such as General Ledger (including secondary and reporting ledgers), Intercompany, Fixed Assets, Project Costing/Billing, Enterprise Performance Management for a global SaaS organization
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and PaaS and with development tools (SQL, Java, Python, VBCS, Groovy, REST APIs, SOAP, JSON/XML etc)
• Proven ability to solve customer problems and drive business outc
