Breast Imaging Tech Assistant

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Enjoy working with people, being a team player and willing to help others with tasks.

• Must be able to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with physicians, clinic staff, and patients.

• Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and minimal supervision

What You Will Do:

• Ensures patient's preauthorization is complete and accurate for appointment

• Helps patient to changing room and to lock up their belongings

• Place markers when applicable

• Verifying completion of high-risk questionnaire

• Help get patients get to the sub waiting area

• Clean and prep cleaning rooms for next patient

• Burning images to a disc when applicable

• Assisting patients that need help changing or standing for exam

• Stock supplies and linen

• Help Breast Imaging Techs with EMR/PACS/Powershare work (obtaining prior images, documentation, looking up lab work, verify and enter patient history into Volpara if completed on paper form).

• Gives patient normal screening results

Education and Experience:

• High School Graduate or G.E.D. equivalent

• 1 year experience in a medical office or radiology setting preferred

• Experience with direct patient interaction preferred

• BLS certification and ability to become MRI safety certified

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Standing and walking for extended periods, Lifting up to 50lbs.

• Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.

• Inside, climate-controlled working conditions.
