Summary
Moelis and Company is seeking a Sr. Staff Accountant to join the Finance and Accounting team. This role is ideal for candidates who wish to be an integral part of a highly functioning team and contribute to aspects of the accounting process.
Responsibilities:
Cash management:
Monitoring bank accounts fund availability
Recording and procuring proper documentation of bank transactions
Bank account reconciliations
Record monthly brokerage transactions
Communicate with bank representatives to open and close bank accounts, setup direct debit mandates, requested foreign exchange rate, and other ad hoc requests.
Accounts payable management:
Review, approve and process payments vendor bills.
Working with accounts payable department and local office managers regarding vendor bills
Payroll:
Process monthly payroll payments to employees and tax agencies.
Record payroll entries.
Monthly/quarterly/year-end close:
Recording month-end close related journal entries and updating the corresponding workpapers
Ledger accounts analysis and reconciliation
Expense trend analysis
Ensuring the closing processes and procedures are completed accurately and within the deadline.
Provide supporting documents to our internal and external auditors for selected transactions.
Provide supporting documents to our internal tax department as needed.
Need to assist the legal, business services, other departments on providing or inquiring information as needed.
Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant is preferred.
Undergraduate degree in accounting
Master’s degree in accounting or business-related major a plus
3-6 years of experience in accounting
Strong technical/computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience with Workday Financials a plus
Accounting experience with foreign currency (FX) and international companies
Experience with Value Added Tax returns.
Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and oral communications skills, able to interact with bankers and employees of all levels across the firm.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure, meet critical deadlines, and manage multiple projects.
Expected Salary Range: $110,000 -$125,000
