Customer Service

• Always projects a positive, enthusiastic view of Elder’s, our people, and our customers.
• Practices the principles of The Six E’s and sets a good example for others.
• Sees that customers are well served and always gives them top priority.
• Provides customer assistance on the sales floor or with carry-outs as necessary.
• Knows the importance of prompt checkout and calls for assistance when 3 or more customers are in line.

Responsibilities

• Operates cash register/point-of-sale terminal accurately & efficiently.
• Practices the procedures for going Off-Line.
• Handles all customer transactions (bankcards, in-house accounts, refunds, Ace Rewards) professionally.
• Promotes the Ace Rewards program.
• Keeps checkout area clean and orderly.
• Stock supplies at the checkout area.
• Watches for shoplifting/suspicious activity and notifies management.

Like every Elder’s associate, the cashier should perform whatever task is necessary to ensure the store’s success. This includes basic tasks such as loading, sweeping, cleaning, straightening a department, and cycle counting, as needed.
