What You’ll Do

As a Physical Therapist Assistant in our Home Health team, you’ll:

• Deliver skilled physical therapy interventions in patients’ homes under the plan of care set by a licensed Physical Therapist.

• Educate patients and caregivers on safe mobility, home exercise programs and adaptive equipment.

• Document treatments, progress notes and reassessments in our electronic health record (EHR) in real time.

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team—including PTs, OTs, nurses and social workers—to optimize outcomes.

• Travel within our Iowa/Illinois service area using your reliable vehicle (mileage paid).

Must‑Haves

EducationAssociate degree from an accredited PTA program

LicensureCurrent PTA license in Iowa or Illinois (second‑state license within 6 months)

CertificationsBLS/CPR through the American Heart Association

Driver’s LicenseValid license, auto insurance meeting Genesis minimums

Tech & DocumentationComfortable with mobile EHR charting

Soft SkillsClear, compassionate communication; ability to motivate patients in home settings

New grads welcome! We provide one‑on‑one mentorship and a structured onboarding roadmap.

Nice‑to‑Haves

• Prior home‑health or outpatient rehab experience

• Knowledge of OASIS or comparable home‑care documentation

• Bilingual skills (Spanish or Bosnian)

Schedule & Setting

• Status: 20 hours per week (.5 FTE)

• Territory: MercyOne Northeast Iowa & Quad Cities region
