I. Job Summary
Performs a wide variety of projects ranging from optimizing customers service levels to delivering client-specific ad hoc proposals to increase sustainability. Assists the Sales Team through creation of client-ready projects as well as creation and development of innovative solutions that deliver cost savings, sustainability improvement and industry-leading service for clients while creating margin for the company. In addition serves as an expert to explain projects and strategic solutions to the client as well as members of the clients account management team during conference calls and in-person presentations internally and at client locations.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
- Develop client-facing strategies to optimize the customer experience and create high-quality proposals that generate savings for Waste Management (WM), WM Strategic
- Business Solutions (SBS), and our clients
- Develop and execute project plans in collaboration with functional managers and clients in order to drive proposal creation and implementation
- Engage in projects that include right-sizing customers services in alignment with sales tiering data; assessing haul weights to maximize loads; conducting regulatory reviews to ensure compliance with applicable recycling laws; scheduling site visits to assess customers waste conveyance systems; and creating single site solutions for waste management at complicated manufacturing facilities
- Ability to analyze large data sources in order to identify opportunities to bring value to our customers and shareholders
- Develop partnerships with internal and external clients through active listening, timely responsiveness and a proactive approach to delivering solutions
- Work in partnership with other WMSBS departments to ensure timelines for bids, surveys, and proposals are met or exceeded
- Track progress against critical deadlines and communicate roadblocks in a timely fashion
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory duties but may train and/or assign work activities to 3rd party vendors.
IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. Must live and work in the US.
A. Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Business, Engineering, Environmental or Earth Sciences, or other industry related field, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
- Experience: One (1) year of previous experience (in addition to education requirement).
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
- None required.
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
- Exceptional Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially Excel at an advanced level
- Knowledge of SharePoint and CRM systems
- Exposure to business intelligence software(s)
- Customer service and engagement skills

Normal setting for this job is: remote setting.
The expected base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $55,000-65,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
