Staff Accountant

Role Description: We are looking to hire a Staff Accountant to join an expanding team of accounting professionals. This role will have responsibilities spread throughout the department. Primary responsibilities of this position will include processing vendor invoices, entering and reviewing journal entries, conducting reconciliations, and assisting with regulatory reporting and financial statement audits. A successful candidate will be detail oriented with strong analytical skills and excited to learn and contribute to a fast paced, growing organization. 

In this role you will:

• Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices promptly;
• Prepare and execute payment runs;
• Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve discrepancies and answer inquiries;
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts;
• Prepare daily journal entries;
• Perform month-end close functions;
• Perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual and budgeted figures and provide explanations;
• Assist with tie outs of external financial statements and regulatory reports
• Prepare ad hoc reporting;
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 3 - 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with an accounts payable background;
• Banking experience preferred 
• Experience with accounting software preferred
• Excel or Google Sheets experience required
• Intellectually curious.
• Strong judgment and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
