Title: Sr. Manager, Product Compliance

Key Accountabilities:
- Plan, direct, and monitor activities of the Product Compliance US team and oversee the engine certification / emission approval process with federal, state, and local governmental regulatory agencies.
- Oversee and approve periodic reports required by federal governmental regulatory agencies.
- Work together with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and CARB (California Air Resources Board)
- Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures and budgets, enforcing rules and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
- Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
- Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
- Support other departments by making recommendations for certification / emission approval and regulatory compliance.
- Plan and evaluate new projects from a regulatory perspective, consulting with other departments and corporate executives as necessary.
- Work together with UL to obtain product certifications for Gensets.
- Monitor and evaluate new regulatory requirements for current and future product lines.
- Keeps management informed of progress, developments and pending problems.
- Oversee and conduct training for employees on regulatory requirements and restrictions.
- Represent RRSA in meetings with agencies.
- Implement process improvements and align with global counterparts.
- Perform special projects as required.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of experience in certification and regulatory compliance for an engine or vehicle manufacturer; or 9 years of experience in certification and regulatory compliance for an engine or vehicle manufacturer.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent knowledge of the EPA and CARB emission regulations (40 CFR Parts 89, 1039, 1042, 1065 and 1068)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability when situations are very complex.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent ability to work independently, with little direction, and effectively with teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in German and English
- Strong organizational, planning and follow-up skills.
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong project manager skills
- Strong knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
- Proficient PC and MS Office Suite
- Must be available to work flexible hours.
- Ability to travel - domestic and international.
- Master’s degree or MBA
- Knowledge of MTU products, policies and procedures
- Diesel engine product knowledge
