This Temporary Exempt (TEX), Full Time position is excluded by the Charter from the competitive civil service examination process and shall serve at the discretion of the appointment officer. The anticipated duration of this project position is thirty-six (36) months and will not result in an eligible list or permanent civil service hiring..

Job Description

In the Department of Technology, Office of Cybersecurity, the Cyber Resiliency Specialist plays a key role in the preparation and execution of the Technology Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity/ Continuity of Operations Plans. 

Major functions in this role include (and are not limited to):

  • Work with City departments to plan, design, and test the resilience solutions for all critical City systems to support the citywide technology resilience program
  • Conduct detailed Technology Risk assessment and Business Impact Analysis 
  • Review City departments completed Technology Risk and Business Impact Analysis for completeness
  • Develop resilience reports that identify gaps and recommendations from Technology Risk assessment and Business Impact Analysis
  • Maintains knowledge on the current and emerging developments/trends for IT Disaster Recovery technology and resilience solutions
  • Collaborate with technical engineering teams to understand the evolving architectures to plan, design and test the resilience solutions
