About the Role
The eBook Sales Specialist role is a challenging opportunity to work in a market which is often at the forefront of new trends and changes. It requires insight and the ability to creatively find ways to increase eBook revenue and profitability, while adapting to changing market conditions and customer demands. You will have the opportunity to work with the North-Western Europe team to contribute to and shape the eBook strategy for the market and the implementation thereof. You will be part of a team with a strong future vision and sales drive.
This role can be in our Heidelberg offices on a hybrid working model.
Role Responsibilities:
Develop and execute tailored eBook sales strategies in collaboration with Licensing Managers to maximize revenue from key accounts.
Draft sales proposals, negotiate contracts, and sell eBook services/products to both new and existing clients, including supporting Licensing Managers with high-revenue renewals and new deals.
Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities through data analysis, market trends, and service/product knowledge to drive sales growth.
Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, and pipeline data using appropriate tools, ensuring clear communication with Finance, Marketing, and Sales Support teams.
Represent the company at sales conferences, library shows, and customer events, delivering impactful presentations to large audiences.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
Essential
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Proven commercial skills with a track record of sales success in a B2B environment.
Familiarity with the STM publishing industry or academic/governmental licensing.
Strong analytical skills for evaluating financial, market, and competitive data.
Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation delivery to large audiences.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly.
Desirable
Experience supporting or leading eBook sales within the DACH region.
Knowledge of market intelligence tools and customer relationship management systems.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
