As part of the School of Veterinary Science which is ranked #1 in the Southern Hemisphere, the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Camden (UVTHC) provides a clinical learning experience for veterinary students with staff engaged in professional training programs through provision of veterinary services to the public.

The Veterinarian Intern – Small Animals position, you will provide primary care services to companion animals under the supervision of senior clinicians within the Small Animal Unit at the UVTHC.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide veterinary services to clients of the Small Animal Unit under the supervision of senior clinicians

  • ensure all client services are provided at a high standard which includes patient advocacy, accurate and timely billing, record keeping, and client follow-up

  • practice and promote professional standards of biosecurity, morbidity and mortality reporting

  • assist in the training of undergraduate veterinary students

  • actively participate in study groups, clinical rounds and journal club.

About you

  • a degree in veterinary science registrable in NSW (or equivalent)

  • recently graduated in veterinary science and/or has commenced their early career as a veterinarian

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • the ability to show initiative and manage competing deadlines.
