Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Vascular Surgery Research Assistant - Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Screen potential study participants through medical record reviews, interviews and follow-ups with healthcare providers.
Plans subsequent work with the approval of the principal investigator.
Conducts in-depth literature searches of web-based information to identify industry and specialty best practices for research methods and quality control/performance improvement processes, and problem-solving collaborations.
Establishes, develops and evaluates specialized protocols for execution of scholarly activities, including:
Screening and enrollment of subjects in to the study, data collection and management of medical record information into a database format, troubleshooting, optimization and quality control of the data with the use of databases such as REDcap.
Generate, update, and maintain study data documentation, and reports with the use of research databases as identified by the hospital and program.
Ensure compliance with hospital-established Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes for case reports, Retrospective EMR studies and QI studies for each of the partnering hospitals.
Contributes to the writing and/or editing of manuscripts and grants.
Collect, enter, and manage research data using various databases and software tools. Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of all research data.
Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to support research initiatives. Summarize findings and present them to the research team.
Perform laboratory tasks, including specimen preparation, processing, and storage. Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Assist in the recruitment and coordination of research participants. Conduct follow-up interviews and gather patient-reported outcomes.
Prepare research documentation, including informed consent forms, study protocols, and progress reports. Coordinate meetings and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of research data and adherence to study protocols.
Other job-related duties as assigned.
