As LPN at the Cleveland Clinic Family Physicians Lyndhurst location, you will assist with ensuring patients receive the best care possible while being seen and treated. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 4:30PM and 8:30AM - 5:00PM. Hours may vary based on clinic needs.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide patient care activities under the direction of an RN, Physician, Optometrist and/or Podiatrist. 
  • Collect and document objective/subjective data and observations about patients.  
  • Complete nursing assessments and report all data.  
  • Implement the current nursing care plan, medication or treatment and communicate patients’ responses.  
  • Observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.  
  • Perform routine laboratory tests.  
  • Educate patients and family members.  
  • Participate in the departmental orientation of new employees, share knowledge and provide guidance when assigned. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing 
  • Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • One year of patient care experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
  • Extensive standing walking and occasional lifting
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
  • Working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours
  • Some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Physical Demand requirements in excess of those for Light Work

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
