Licensed Mental Health Counselor (1099 Contract Worker)

Description

 The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for a 1099 contracted position.  We are currently looking for a dynamic therapist, passionate about working with a range of clients served through all of our programs.  The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will be able to work as part of a counseling team if desired and be supported through regular counseling treatment team meetings or supervision.  This position serves both in person and telehealth clients. 

• Experience working with adults coping with grief, loss, infertility, parenting, adjustment to a child's medical diagnosis and/or experience treating in a primary care or hospital-based setting preferred. 
• Must have LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent but open to an LSW or LAPC who is within one year of obtaining full clinical licensure. Supervision hours towards licensure can be provided. 
• Must practice from a trauma informed lens

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field, required.
• Current, active, PA clinical license (LPC or LCSW) or licensure (LSW, LAPC) with ability to obtain clinical licensure within first year of hire required. 
• Minimum of one year experience in clinical work with adults required.
• Strong knowledge of mental health conditions and evidence based therapeutic interventions for treatment required.
• Strong knowledge of the impact of trauma and trauma informed interventions required. 
• Strong ability to build rapport with and communicate with all clients, regardless of age, preferred gender, sexual orientation, or other belief systems required.  
• Experience working with adults coping with grief, loss, infertility, parenting, adjustment to a child's medical diagnosis and/or experience treating in a primary care or hospital-based setting preferred.
