About the Team
The Security Engineering team is a research and development (R&D) team that operates within the broader Security and Risk Control Organization. Their core responsibility is to construct, implement, and sustain secure infrastructures, platforms, and technologies. In addition, they provide support to cross-functional teams within the organization. The team's ultimate objective is to serve and safeguard ByteDance products and infrastructures on a global scale.

Responsibilities:
- Explore and build cutting-edge security technologies for LLM, large-scale models, advanced data security, network security, and secure operations in the AI era.
- Deep dive into the technical stack of large models (such as query understanding, RAG retrieval-augmented generation, Agent intelligence, model training, etc.) to enhance vertical domain application effectiveness.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to address challenges in real production environments, including UX, product features, big data processing, reliability, latency, and costs, ensuring research outcomes are effectively deployed for value creation.
- Collaborate with researchers to jointly publish top-tier academic papers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Information Security-related fields.
- Proficiency in Python, C, or C++, with a solid foundation in data structures, operating systems, and AI-related theories.
- Familiarity with the technical stack of LLM: data construction, Prompt, RAG, training, dialogue, etc., with preference given to those with experience in large model training and application deployment.
- Experience in risk control algorithms, NLP, computer vision, knowledge graphs, search, recommendation systems, or a related algorithmic field.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Awards in competitions like ACM/ICPC, Topcoder, or publications in top-tier conferences or journals such as NLP, computer vision, or prominent security conferences.
- Experiences in backend systems, product development, and UX design/implementation.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $194000 - $410000 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
