Associate Environmental, Health and Safety Specialists are directly involved in achieving the sites sustainability goals and ensuring a safe work environment for employees.

A Day in The Life Of:
- Ensures effective and sustainable EHS systems, programs and processes are in place.
- Implement and monitor compliance EHS legislation/regulations and Medtronic EHS standards.
- Partner with and educate business functions to assure that employee safety, environmental sustainable practices and compliance with EHS regulations are supported.
- Perform and report metrics pertinent to EHS activities.
- Obtains and maintains Health & Safety records and required Environmental permits, licenses and documents.
- Completes EHS job function duties such as job safety analyses/risk assessments, EHS training, workplace incident analyses, EHS inspections/audits, environmental regulatory reporting, data collection / analysis and internal audits.
- Conducts ergonomic risk assessments and makes appropriate recommendations.
- Evaluates new hazardous materials to ensure compliance in EHS requirements and facility procedures.
- Conducts EHS reviews for new product development, facility modification, product manufacturing modifications and new equipment/machinery installations. Facilitates EHS reviews for product transfer to/from other facilities.
- Selects and applies EHS principles, theories and concepts and uses independent judgment to develop and design practical solutions to EHS issues.
- Partner with business functions to resolve EHS problems.
- Develops, administers, and implement the site EHS Management System in accordance with IPC License, ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO5001, legal and corporate requirements.
Key Skills & Experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s Level 8 degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Environmental Science or other relevant Engineering or Science discipline.
- A post graduate qualification in Environmental Science and/or Environmental, Health and Safety, an advantage.
- Minimum 1-2 years previous experience in Environmental role or EHS required.
- Pharmaceutical, Chemical, or medical devices industry background an advantage.
- Detailed knowledge of legislation and ability to interpret and translate such information into site policy and procedures.
- Good communication skills and computer skills essential.
- Good attention to detail with ability to problem solve.
