About the job

The Account Manager will be responsible for sales of ebooks and online reference products to the academic library market in Northeast (CT, MA, ME, NH, NY, RI, VT). This individual will be focused on customizing ebook packages, presenting new reference products, and securing new customers.

What you'll be doing:

  • Meet and exceed sales quotas for T&F online products within the assigned territory.
  • Express knowledge of T&F digital products and the markets we serve.
  • Contact customers via phone and email, introduce T&F online products and cross sell products to new and existing customers within assigned territory.
  • Respond to RFPs from prospective customers.
  • Generate customized quotes; negotiate and execute sales agreements. After a period of intense training, rep is expected to be able to work independently, and be comfortable making decisions within the parameters of commercial guidelines/training and as set by their line manager.
  • Position requires approximate 30% travel:
    • Visit top customers at least once a year, focus on up-selling the entire product line
    • Visit prospective customers to present/demo product line
    • Represent T&F at exhibits and conventions
  • Assist with the resolution of customer issues where appropriate
  • Provide weekly and/or monthly reports detailing sales and trial activities within territory
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • Academic publishing, ebooks, library market, or general sales experience.
  • Strong presentation skills (both in-person and online)
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Comfortable using Office suite of products - Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams
  • Ability to travel to visit customers and attend conferences
  • Librarians (MLIS/Library Science degree) welcome to apply

  • Annual base salary ranging from $65000 - $80000 + bonus
    • Annual base salary commensurate with sales and industry experience
