Contract Instructor - Licensed Nursing Assistant Certificate Program

Manchester Community College is seeking qualified individuals who are interested in contract teaching at the College in a classroom, online classroom and clinical setting; strong academic background is required. The focus area is in a Licensed Nursing Assistant Certificate Program. Please note instructors should be based in New Hampshire with a NH LNA or RN credential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• An earned Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, with a major field of study in nursing.
• Unencumbered RN License.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with classroom and online teaching.
• Higher education teaching experience in the nursing field.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (per Board of Nursing Rules)

Instructor Qualifications:

LNA instructors seeking to be hired to teach in a licensed nursing assistant certificate program shall complete and submit Form “Approval for Board Approved Education Programs,” and be approved by the board in accordance with the requirements below:

Requirement One:

1. Possess a current New Hampshire unencumbered registered nurse license or a multi-state RN license from another compact state
2. Validate 2 years’ experience with the elderly and/or chronically ill of any age with 1year experience in the provision of LTC facility services, and
3. Demonstrates competence to teach adult learners through one of the following:

Baccalaureate educational preparation; or Successful completion of a 12hour board-approved Train-the-Trainer course.

OR

Requirement Two:

1. Comply with (2) and (3) above and possess a current New Hampshire unencumbered licensed practical nurse license (LPN) or a multi-state LPN license issued by a compact state.
2. If in compliance with the above criteria, the instructor shall receive board approval.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Scope of Work:

To coordinate course, course delivery and program activities for non-credit Licensed Nursing Assistant Certification Program at Manchester Community College. The position is a contractual, temporary position for a specified contract period.
