About the role

If you’re passionate about being part of a dynamic organization that enables a Fortune 100 company with nearly $70 billion in annual sales to drive innovation and adopt new technologies that deliver business results, then Nationwide’s Technology team could be the place for you! At Nationwide®, “on your side” goes beyond just words. Our customers are at the center of everything we do and we’re looking for associates who are passionate about delivering extraordinary care.

ACE in CLS is IBM App Connect Enterprise — the integration/middleware platform formerly known as IBM Integration Bus (IIB). In Nationwide artifacts it appears as “CL IIB / Ace (AppConnect Enterprise)”.

What it does, in plain English:

  • It connects systems and services so data can move between applications. IBM’s ACE description specifically calls out connectivity, routing, and integration across apps, systems, and services.
  • It transforms/maps data from one system’s format to another. In CLS examples, PolicyCenter fields are sent to ACE and ACE maps them into downstream target fields such as HPEX/GSDD print/form structures.
  • It orchestrates service/API calls. One CLS document shows ACE receiving a request from PolicyCenter, obtaining a bearer token, calling the UWRS REST API, and then mapping the response back to PolicyCenter.
  • It can also apply validation/business-handling logic in the integration flow before data is passed downstream

For someone to be successful as a candidate they will need to have:

  • Strong ACE/IIB Integration background
  • PolicyCenter familiarity
  • Experience w/field mappings, APIs, and dostream irchestration
  • Ability to troubleshoot production/support issues across connected systems
  • Understanding of CLS business processes and line impacts

This role will work a hybrid schedule coming into the Columbus, Ohio, Des Moines, Iowa, or Scottsdale, Arizona office 2 days (Monday & Tuesday) per week. Remote internal associates may also be considered.

This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization.  Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.
