What We Offer
This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. This position typically works 4–12 hours per month, as needed and no more than 39 hours per week. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $23.89 - $28.00/hour, based on experience and education. This position is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On‐call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.
Location & Schedule
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. The home base for this position will be the Wellington Webb Building (201 W. Colfax Ave. Denver, CO). However, in this position you can expect to work virtually and in-person across multiple sites and community events in the Denver area.
Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

Do you want to make a difference in your community by educating local families about child passenger safety? Join DOTI's OCBE team as a Bilingual Program Educator. As an Educator, you'll work with families in Denver and adjacent areas, teaching them about car seat safety and installation in both English and Spanish. The Program Educator is a mobile position, works outside in all reasonable weather conditions, and delivers education primarily on-site at partner agencies to include classroom-style learning, presentations, displays, and interactive, hands-on car seat installations with local families. The Program Educator will deliver and track car seat learning sessions, locations, attendees, and inventory items, as well as occasional assistance with supply items such as car seats, booster seats, educational materials, and display items.
This grant-funded position works closely with implementation and outreach teams within DOTI and with our partners, including Denver’s Vision Zero program (a commitment to making Denver’s streets safe for everyone - no matter where they live in the city, no matter their means, and no matter their choice to walk, bike, drive, or take transit), as well as other partners such as transit, infrastructure, police, community safety, and local residents and business owners.
As a Bilingual Child Passenger Safety Educator, you will:
Leading and supporting in-person Child Passenger Safety learning at various locations, both classroom-style and individualized learning
Becoming a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST), with training costs covered by the program (see https://cert.safekids.org/become-tech), maintaining knowledge base
Helping families install and remove car seats during scheduled appointments
Reinforcing overall safe driving behaviors and seatbelt use
Collaborating with local groups and agencies to deliver learning and gather feedback on the program's effectiveness, contribute to program improvements
Reviewing and providing constructive feedback toward program proces
