About the role:

As an IT Intern specializing in Desktop and Server Support, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure. This internship is designed to provide practical experience in setting up Windows and Linux servers, learning networking fundamentals, and assisting in the imaging and configuration of workstations. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced IT team to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our IT operations.

What you'll do here (Job functions):

Desktop Support:

• Provide technical assistance to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues.
• Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of workstations.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve desktop-related problems.

Windows Server Support:

• Gain hands-on experience in setting up, configuring, and maintaining Windows servers.
• Assist in implementing security measures and ensuring server performance and reliability.
• Participate in server monitoring and troubleshooting activities.

Linux Server Support:

• Learn and apply skills in setting up and managing Linux servers.
• Contribute to the deployment and maintenance of Linux-based services and applications.
• Work alongside experienced team members to enhance server security and performance.

Networking Fundamentals:

• Learn fundamental networking concepts and practices.
• Assist in network configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting in an AWS environment.
• Contribute to the optimization of network infrastructure for improved performance.

Workstation Imaging:

• Assist in the imaging and deployment of workstations using industry-standard tools.
• Collaborate with the team to streamline workstation setup processes.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of workstation images.

About you: (Qualifications):

• Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Eagerness to learn and apply knowledge in a practical, hands-on environment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
• Rising Sophomore to Graduate Students currently enrolled in college or university.
• Interns must be willing to attend a two-day orientation on Eastern Standard Time.

The US base salary for this position is $22-$25/hour. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
