Job Summary

The Director of Clinical Cultural Competency is a critical leadership role within the in a large integrated delivery network system. The Director will lead the charge in cultivating an environment of empathy and cultural understanding across all levels of our healthcare delivery system. This position demands a dedicated individual who will champion the development and implementation of initiatives that promote cultural awareness, sensitivity, and competency among our clinical staff. By fostering an inclusive atmosphere and working closely with various stakeholders, the Director will help bridge cultural gaps in care, improving patient and member experiences, health outcomes and advancing equity in our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the creation and execution of a holistic strategy for cultural competency training that emphasizes empathy and understanding, ensuring all clinical staff are equipped to provide compassionate care to a diverse patient and member population.
- Collaborate with clinical leaders to weave cultural competency and empathy into the fabric of patient and member care practices, enhancing member/patient and staff relationships.
- Utilize data and feedback to assess the impact of cultural competency initiatives, making data informed decisions to enhance the quality and inclusivity of patient/member care.
- Advocate for an organizational culture that prioritizes empathy, equity, and respect, serving as a key advisor on issues related to cultural competency and patient centered care.
- Conduct regular assessments of cultural competency initiatives, utilizing data and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as an advisor and subject matter expert on issues related to cultural competency, health disparities and equitable care.

Experience:
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in public policy, social science, education, public administration, ethnic studies, human services, political science, or closely related field (master’s degree preferred).
Proficiency in program development, data analysis, and using insights to drive organizational change.
- Experience developing data-driven strategy to tackle health disparities
- Understanding of the systemic issues contributing to health disparities and a passionate commitment to promoting equity in healthcare.

Attributes:
- Knowledge of health disparities, social drivers of health, and strategies for providing equitable healthcare
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy: A deep understanding of the experiences and perspectives of underrepresented groups and the ability to empathize with their challenges and needs.

Qualifications:

BLD - Bachelor's Level Degree (Required), MLD - Master's Level Degree

Data Analysis, Experience developing data-driven strategy to tackling health disparities, Program Development, Understanding of the systematic issues contributing to health disparities and a passionate commitment to promoting equity in healthcare, Utilized insights to drive organizational change
