As Financial Reporting Manager you manage and monitor the accounting ledger in accordance with Swiss GAAP, secure tax filings, analyze and summarize data to provide insights to the Company’s financial performance. The function guides the financial reporting process in the local ERP (e.g. financial close process).

Your responsibilities

Accounting/Finance
  • Ensure timely bookings of journal entries and support team with technical accounting guidance.
  • Review GL Data integrity during the month to establish accurate reporting at month end.
  • Calculate and record month end entries such as sales representative commissions, duty drawback accruals, and freight accruals.
  • Prepare and/or review certain balance sheet reconciliations for month end closing.
  • Complete financial reporting submissions in accordance with month end close deadlines.
  • Support Vice President of Finance and Accounting to compile year end audit support.
  • Assist A/R and A/P departments with daily operations where needed.
Finance

  • Prepare planning files used for budget and forecast planning.
  • Perform financial statement analysis to identify and explain fluctuations against budgets.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis as required from time to time by various department heads.
Taxation

  • Complete and file sales tax returns for applicable North American states/provinces.
  • Oversee sales tax filings prepared by 3rd party partners.
  • Manage sales tax audits and ensure compliance with local regulations/legislation.
  • Communicate with tax authorities, assist in tax audits, and annual financial statements audit.
  • Perform nexus threshold review to identify newly applicable jurisdictions.
  • Define processes for calculation and filing for newly implemented states.
  • Prepare documentation for internal tax reporting and payments.

Your profile

  • CPA or equivalent preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • 5 years work experience in the respective area (Big 4 experience is a plus)
  • Excellent accounting (IFRS, US GAAP) & process understanding of accounting relevant processes including prepaid and accrual treatment
  • Acute attention to detail and highly analytical
  • Strong communication skills; clear and articulate
  • Advanced excel knowledge and experience (V/H/Xlookup and pivot tables)
  • History with ERP and data analytic systems (Dynamics 365 and Power BI a plus)
  • Experience managing month end close and related reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to commute a few days a week to the Denver, Boulder & Broomfield areas
