For our Hydrogen Team in the Netherlands we are looking for a Team Lead Business Development. The commercial role is part of the Uniper Business Line Hydrogen which includes in addition to the Netherlands, the UK, Nordics and Germany. The Business Line Hydrogen works as one team within the company utilizing the resources from the whole Uniper Group. The position will be located in the Uniper offices in Rotterdam.

What are we looking for
- Leading the Hydrogen Business Development Team NL with three direct reports with responsibility for the project funnel of Uniper’s hydrogen projects in the Netherlands. Full commercial project accountability from ideation towards Final Investment Decision (FID) to be taken by the Uniper Group Board of Management.
- Leading the H2Maasvlakte project as a General Project Manager (GPM) towards Final Investment Decision (FID), including full responsibility for project and business case development, budget, scheduling and reporting of the project to the project committee (consisting of executives from around the Uniper business).
- Accountable for project planning the development of the first 100MW, including the project planning of the extension phases of 500MWinstalled by 2030.
- Functional leadership of an interdisciplinary project team from across multiple Uniper functions (approx. 20 internal and external project staff) plus contractors for commercial, strategic and technical aspects until the final investment decision is taken.
- Define and implement value-driven business cases for all hydrogen asset projects, including customer acquisition, securing offtake contracts with risk-balanced pricing structures, negotiating JV and partnership agreements with support by Legal, collaborate with group-internal functional teams for procuring supplies, such as renewable power under PPA, etc.
- Overall responsibility for Mid-Term-Planning (MTP), supervising budgets, business modelling and scheduling for each of the projects in the Netherlands. Accountable for structuring the projects into meaningful phases divided by clear decision and budget milestones.
- Implement Uniper’s hydrogen asset strategy in NL in close collaboration with other BD Team Leads responsible for UK, Norics, Ger and for cross-regional strategic partnerships. Actively contribute to develop further Uniper’s hydrogen strategy in order to help shape the climate-friendly asset base of the company.
- Reporting disciplinary to the Vice President Business Development Hydrogen of Uniper based in Düsseldorf with responsibility for UK, Nordics, Ger, and NL.
- Internal and external stakeholder management, including supporting the establishment and maintenance of (strategic) partnerships as well as Uniper representation in business associations and at conferences, all in close coordination with our group communications & public relations department.
- Ensuring compliance, project management and HSSES (Health, Safety, Security & Environment , Sustainability) standards within the Uniper policy framework.
Who are we seeking
You have a relevant University degree and at least 10 years of work experience. Commercial management skills as well as professional experience in business development and project management are essential. As a person you have good leadership skills and high engagement when it comes to developing and managing people. You can easily see the bigger picture, are self-driven and make things happen. In addition, you are a good communicator and have the ability to cooperate
