Senior Business Development Manager
Foley Hoag LLPAbout the role
Reporting to the Chief Business Development Officer, the Senior Business Development Manager plays a critical role in providing strategic direction and managing the tactical delivery of business development initiatives for two of the firm’s key industry verticals—Energy & Climate and Cannabis—the New York office, and the Administrative Law department. This highly visible team member will work closely with senior partners to develop and support business development initiatives as well as collaborate with colleagues across the Business Development Department to provide a coordinated approach and strategy to developing opportunities for the firm.
In supporting strategic industry verticals Energy & Climate and Cannabis, this is an exciting opportunity to be embedded into tight-knit cross-departmental groups that feature attorneys from virtually all departments across the firm. Our Energy & Climate group works across the industry, serving innovative first-of-a-kind ClimateTech startups, nonprofits and accelerators, as well as clean energy developers and financers. We are mission driven and were one of only seven law firms to receive an “A” grade from the Law Students for Climate Accountability in their 2023 and 2024 scorecards. Our cannabis practice has been a leader in a growing industry, working nationally to help cannabis and hemp companies at all stages and sizes with a variety of legal matters. Both the Energy & Climate practice and Cannabis practice at Foley Hoag were first of a kind legal groups when founded, and each continues to support market-leading innovation in each respective sector.
