Your Responsibilities

 

As an Operations Project Manager for John Deere located in Waterloo, Iowa, you will manage and coordinate the successful delivery of Strategic Operations projects with low complexity and/or tactical Operations projects with high complexity.  This position will support the successful execution of Tractor Cab Assembly Operations (TCAO) end-of-line project execution until its completion, along with other PM projects and responsibilities.   • Develop and refine plans for the future state end-of-line operations including strategy, tactical planning, and execution.
  • Lead development and execution of plans to transition current operations to their future state or end-of-life.
  • Work cross functionally and provide guidance to Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Material Flow, Facilities Engineering, and Operations to successfully meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Develop and manage relevant capital and project budgets.
  • Maintain communication with factory leadership and affected stakeholders.

What Skills You Need

 

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or machining processes, Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), Order Fulfillment Process (OFP), and the Deere Production System.
  • Project Management experience demonstrating effective communication, teamwork skills, problem solving, and multiple concurrent project workload management.
  • Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification process
  • Demonstrated communication skills adapting messages to variety of audiences to align objectives.

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • 3 or more years of manufacturing and/or operations experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience in Project Management – small to moderate scale projects.
  • Working knowledge of TCAO product flow and tractor end-of-line processes.
  • Cross functional work experience in multiple areas, i.e. quality, manufacturing engineering, operations, material flow.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead without authority across functional areas.
  • Experience in business plan development at a department level.

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent work experience
