We need people who have passion, resilience, and willingness to find solutions, not just problems, and work well within our global team of almost 30 nationalities. </p><p><strong>The Role </strong></p><p>As a Senior Backend Developer for the Payments Tribe, you will develop robust solutions to optimize payment processing, streamline integrations with payment providers, and enhance transaction systems. Your contributions will directly support our mission to build the world’s first regulated payments curation platform.</p><p></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul> <li>Design and implement backend systems that power seamless payment flows, integrations, and financial services.</li> <li>Build scalable and resilient APIs to integrate with multiple payment providers, gateways, and banking systems.</li> <li>Ensure high availability and fault tolerance in payment processing systems to support global operations.</li> </ul><ul> <li>Use Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and reactive frameworks like WebFlux/Project Reactor to develop performant and cloud-native solutions.</li> <li>Collaborate on deploying and managing systems in Kubernetes and AWS, ensuring scalability and efficiency</li> </ul><ul> <li>Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other key stakeholders to ensure the technical direction aligns with the tribe’s goals.</li> <li>Partner with other tribes, to build end-to-end solutions that meet business needs.</li> <li>Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture decisions to ensure technical excellence.</li> <li>Identify and implement improvements to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability.</li> </ul><p></p><p><strong>To be successful in this role, you:</strong></p><ul> <li>Have strong experience in designing, developing, and deploying API-first, cloud-native back-end systems, ideally in the FinTech or payments sector.</li> <li>Are highly proficient in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and reactive frameworks like WebFlux/Project Reactor.</li> <li>Have experience with payment systems, including integrations with payment gateways, providers, and banks.</li> <li>Understand payment processing concepts such as transaction lifecycle, reconciliation, and settlement.</li> <li>Are familiar with deploying applications on Kubernetes and AWS, with experience in multi-cloud strategies.</li> <li>Have a results-driven approach with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and security.</li> <li>Are comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and contributing to technical discussions and decisions.</li> <li>Are passionate about building scalable systems and contributing to a team-oriented culture of technical excellence.</li> </ul><p></p><p><em>You may not possess every single required skill listed, and that's perfectly fine.
