Job Purpose or Objective(s): As the Phlebotomist, you will collect and process patient specimens for lab testing. You will report to the Supervisor.
PG05 - Start Rate: $17.55/hourly | Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm |

Primary Tasks:
- Perform venipuncture or capillary puncture on patients of all ages.
- Follow sterile procedure appropriate technique and approved collection equipment to obtain required specimens for testing.
- Obtain positive identification by name and date of birth from each patient, or from hospital armband or from nursing staff.
- Label specimens correctly and delivers to proper testing area.
- Answer telephone and uses phone system appropriately.
- Process specimens requiring preparation for referral to reference labs.
- Maintain lab files in orderly and proper condition.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and associate information
Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent
- Phlebotomist certification
- Six [6] months of on-the-job training or equivalent experience
TARGET
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent
- Phlebotomist certification
- Six [6] months of laboratory experience
