Purpose of the Job
The OEM Demand Planner is a key business partner who owns responsibility for demand planning and continuous improvement for the OEM Appliance business. The Planner’s focus will be on improving the advanced analytical capabilities of the OEM organization in the pursuit of service, cost, and working capital improvement.
This role coordinates the monthly forecasting and annual operations planning process for demand planning culminating in review and alignment with leadership. Additionally, this role will lead the Material Planning process working with one direct report. This role will deliver best-in-class service and cost based on our ability to exceed customer expectations and will have strong cross-functional relationships with sales, finance, and Insulation S&OE teams.
Reports to: OEM Supply Chain Leader

Job Responsibilities
Demand Planning
- Supports the timely development of consolidated demand plans in support of the annual operating plan, monthly forecast, and other financial reporting processes
- Collaborates with business partners to understand market and customer dynamics that drive changes in demand and can communicate this to leadership in a clear, concise manner
- Ensures alignment of demand with global sales and finance teams
- Relentlessly drives for data integrity and systematic process controls that prevent errors and foster confidence in the demand process
- Assists in continuously improving the supply chain process and supporting tools driving for global standardization and automation where possible
Product Portfolio Continuous Improvement
- Leads the team in updating product portfolio information
- Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and identify consolidation opportunities in terms of products
- Runs reports for team as needed
- Act as a liaison across the supply chain and ensure teams/leaders are informed of any changes/issues that could negatively impact productivity or customers
Leads optimization of service, cost, and cash through advanced analytics
- Descriptive Analytics – The capability of understanding and explaining “what happened?”
- Translate internal and external metrics into automated reporting solutions
- Technical leadership and development of the strategic and operational planning tools to support the creation and execution of the demand plan
- Performs ad-hoc analyses and reporting as needed, including demand run rate, variance analysis, and period to period comparisons
- Diagnostic Analytics – The capability of understanding and explaining “why it happened?”
- Serves as a subject matter expert and escalation point for users of forecasting issues
- Develops and maintains a variety of early warning alerts which allows the team to proactively identify exceptional situations before they become a service, cost, or cash defect
- Drive toward best-in-class analytics acumen across the organization
Predictive Analytics – The capability of anticipating “what is going to happen?”

- Development, execution, and continuous improvement of forecast models
- Long range strategic forecasts based on external market indicators
- Intermediate term forecasts based on time series
- Short term forecasts based on demand sensing
- Prescriptive Analytics – The capability of determining “what should we do?”
- Utilizing advanced analytics to improve GM, ROC, and related metrics globally
- Development and execution of various “what-if” scenarios, along with synthesis of results into a concise executive summary
