Job Description:

This position is responsible for the cleanliness of all the residential halls, offices within the residential halls, and cultural centers.

Duties and responsibilities
 General cleaning tasks at campus buildings
 Sweeping, vacuuming and washing floors
 Emptying waste receptacles
 Cleaning and disinfecting bathroom toilets, showers, countertops, mirrors, sinks and high touch surfaces
 Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures
 Communicate building and safety concerns, report need for repair or services
 Additional duties related to Commencement, Reunion, Events and Summer Conferences as assigned

Qualifications
 High school or equivalent
 Must be able to adhere to a detailed cleaning program
 Must be willing to work some weekends and holidays
 Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
 A willingness to perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions
 Employee handles a range of hazardous materials, including cleaning chemicals and supplies.
 May have contact with chemicals and fumes, wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme weather related to heat or cold.

 Noise level in some work environments can occasionally be loud.


Physical Demands
 Balancing, carrying, pulling/pushing, grasping, repetitive movement, standing, bending, reaching, sitting, twisting and lifting.
 Ability to physically perform manual tasks, climb stairs, lift, climb ladders, and bend.
 Ability to lift (30) pounds unassisted, able to stoop or stand for prolonged periods of time.
