Director of UX Researcher | The Points Guy

The Director of UX Research & Insights leads TPG’s user research organization and is responsible for developing deep understanding of user behavior, needs, and motivations across all product surfaces. This leader defines the research vision, manages researchers, and partners with Product Strategy and Product Management to ensure insights drive both long-term strategic decisions and near-term product validation. This leader will be the champion of evidence-based decision-making across TPG. 

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and mentor a team of UX Researchers and managed the partnership with TPGs 3rd party research partners.
• Own the research roadmap, balancing generative (strategic) and evaluative (tactical) studies across shared-capacity models.
• Partner with the Director of Product Strategy on long-term opportunity framing and foundational research.
• Support Product Managers and Designers with research-based validation, usability testing, and user-behavior insights as they build and successfully ship B2C products.
• Maintain a centralized insight repository and enable insight-sharing across pods and leadership.
• Establish research standards, methodologies, and ethical practices.
• Represent the voice of the user in cross-functional leadership discussions.   

What We’re Looking For:

• 10+ years of experience in UX research or similar role conducting primary research in an applied setting.
• Track record of managing a high-performing teams and developing future leaders.
• Fluency in qualitative and quantitative research methods. 
• Experience working closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and Strategy functions. 
• Strong communication skills capable of influencing executives and shaping decisions. 
• Ability to operate in both strategic discovery and tactical validation work. 

  Compensation: 

• Cash Compensation Range: $150,000 - $260,000 per year
