About this Role
The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will support the strategy and growth of the business. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a pivotal role by developing budgets and forecasts, producing financial and executive reporting and supporting investment decisions and strategy development with financial analysis. The insights you help foster will directly contribute to the growth and success of the business by providing accurate financial forecasts, analyzing key performance metrics, and supporting senior management in making informed business decisions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the financial trajectory of our organization and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
Primary Responsibilities
Budget & Forecast Process, 40-50%
- Lead the financial planning and budgeting process by collaborating with department heads to create comprehensive budgets that align with the company's strategic goals
- Maintain a working forecast informed by the latest actuals, data, operational requirements and new deal activity
- Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, as well as to support the month-end and year-end close processes
- Collaborate with Med Econ and Actuarial teams to ensure accurate financial close bookings for revenue and medical cost related to risk-based contracts
- Conduct variance analysis between actual financial results and budget/forecast to identify areas of concern and opportunities for improvement
Financial & Executive Reporting, 30-40%
- Prepare insightful management reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior leadership and board meetings, enabling data-driven discussions and strategic decisions
- Monitor and report key financial and operational metrics, highlighting trends and recommending actions to improve financial performance and operational efficiency
- Partner with Actuarial and Med Econ to create deal-level financial reporting, including book and ‘restated’ financials
Ad Hoc Analysis, 20-30%
- Develop and maintain financial models to analyze various scenarios, provide insight into business performance, revenue projections, and cost optimization.
- Participate in strategic initiatives, such as pricing analysis, investment evaluations, and capital allocation strategies.
Business Support
- Act as a finance business partner to all departments
- Providing financial expertise, analysis and insights across the organization
- Identify opportunities to improve the business model/strategy (e.g., market opportunity, LOB opportunity, provider partner opportunities, etc.)
- Support the prioritization of strategic investments by creating processes and ROI analysis on new clinical/product/marketing initiatives, potential partnerships, data purchases, etc.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in financial planning and analysis, preferably in the healthcare or related industry.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting, along with a deep understanding of key financial metrics.
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with financial planning software and ERP systems is a plus
- Financial modeling of Value Based Care deals
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
