About the Job

Life360 is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Indirect Tax Analyst to be the Company’s first tax hire and lead its indirect tax functions, including sales and use tax, GST, VAT, property tax and other non-income business taxes.  This position reports into the Director, Financial Reporting. This role will interface with the entire Finance team and across the organization. 

The salary range for this position is $112,500 to $160,000. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and lead all indirect tax functions, including compliance and reporting

  • Managing and working directly with third party providers to prepare and file, sales and use tax in the US

  • Partnering with accounting and purchasing personnel to develop methodologies for capturing and reporting use tax liabilities

  • Review and/or prepare reconciliations of related sales and use tax general ledger accounts and related SOX documentation

  • Manage product taxability configurations and system enablement including nexus settings, product mappings, and enterprise application processes and enhancements

  • Own for all indirect tax controversies including all audits, notices and VDAs

  • Assist in planning for potential PLRs/ALRs

  • Research and prepare required work papers and technical memos related to sales and use tax issues

  • Own international transaction related taxes include VAT and GST

  • Manage indirect tax risk globally, closely monitoring the dynamic landscape and assessing and implementing operational and compliance changes, as required

  • Provide indirect tax support to the business including customer invoice and taxability support, customer and vendor contract review, customer exemption certificate advice, and ERP support

  • Partner with third party tax advisors to develop direct tax strategy, credits, deductions and related world-wide planning to develop a holistic view for executive leadership.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree, with emphasis in accounting or finance

  • Master's degree in Tax or Accounting and/or CPA preferred

  • 5+ years of corporate tax experience including sales tax and VAT experience

  • Public company multinational corporation experience and/ or public accounting firm experience (i.e., Big 4) preferred

  • Commitment to continuous improvement

  • Excellent analytical skills; detail oriented

  • Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while successfully
