We are looking for a full-time Sterile Resource Technician to join our team!

Job Overview

The Sterile Resource Technician (SRT) plays a critical role in supporting our surgical department by ensuring a clean, sterile, and well-organized environment. Responsibilities include decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and proper storage of surgical instruments. The SRT also maintains sterilization equipment and restocks sterile supplies. This is a great opportunity for someone detail-oriented and passionate about veterinary care.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $28 – $40 per hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Instrument Processing

• Decontaminate, clean, assemble, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Conduct biological and chemical monitoring to verify sterilization.
• Operate and maintain sterilization systems (e.g., steam, EO, H₂O₂).

Equipment Maintenance & Stocking

• Inspect instruments and replace any damaged items.
• Perform routine maintenance on sterilization equipment.
• Stock and organize operating room cabinets with sterile supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels and request restocking as needed.

Compliance & Safety

• Follow all infection control, OSHA, and clinic safety protocols.
• Maintain a sterile and organized work environment.
• Properly use PPE and sterilants.

Qualifications

Experience and Certification Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a clinical, hospital, or veterinary environment
• 
Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician certification required

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and general office equipment.

Abilities

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently.
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Stand for extended periods and frequently bend at the waist.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety.
