We are looking for a Principal Specialist, EH&S (Environment Health and Safety) Generalist to join our onsite Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, and Sustainability team in Riverside, California. In this role you will design, develop, implement and oversee the organization’s EH&S programs and procedures to safeguard our employees and the environment. You will ensure that the organization is compliant with all corporate and city/state/federal policies and regulations applicable to EH&S.
This position will primarily be focused on air emission compliance to meet existing Title V facility permit conditions as well as applicable rules in the SCAQMD.
What You Will Do
Develop the site EHS Annual Plan in partnership with site leadership to drive strategy of the EHS function, including a tactical plan to achieve results
Design and implement initiatives that drive continuous improvement
Collaborate with site employees to define controls for EHS programs.
Assess EHS impacts and support/develop/implement programs to reduce risk as well as achieve and maintain compliance.
Manage environmental permits, documentation, and reporting.
Support the EH&S team in managing hazardous waste, stormwater compliance, and security protocols.
Establish and track plans to maintain compliance and reduce risk.
Integrate programs horizontally and vertically across the functional groups of Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Tooling, and Quality.
Attend weekly status meetings and program management reviews to communicate status, risks, and recovery plans.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Travel up to 10%.

Develop your expertise in air quality management as well as expanding your skills in all EH&S programs
Use of Collins lean skills and tools during cross functional Kaizen events as a participant, building up skills to be a lean leader and eventually a lean champion.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
Experience with applying for or managing air permits and compliance
Familiar with air emission compliance
Qualifications We Prefer
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Demonstrated experience analyzing and evaluating new or revised regulation and ensuring continuous compliance
Expertise with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word as well as experience with Teams, SharePoint, and Power BI
Ability to interface and influence at all levels of a large facility organization including vendors, labor, corporate leadership, and regulatory agencies
Experience preparing air permits in the SCAQMD
