About the role
We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to be a leading contributor to the core Striim platform. This role involves architecting, designing, implementing software in the various areas of the Striim product. Knowledge in either of distributed systems, stream processing or SQL is required. Ability to working in a dynamic, fast paced environment is required. The role will include troubleshooting and debugging technical issues inside deep and complex technical stacks as well as working/mentoring junior engineers with code/design reviews.
Requirements
- 5+ years' professional experience in systems software development.
- Proficient understanding of backend systems with emphasis on scalability and performance.
- Programming and algorithmic proficiency in either of Java, C, C++, Go, or Python.
- Thorough understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) including translating functionality requirements, design, implementation, unit testing, code reviews.
- Thorough understanding of operating systems and performance tuning.
- Proficient understanding in either of distributed systems, database internals, or stream processing.
- Familiarity with public clouds (GCP/AWS/Azure), Kubernetes, Microservices.
- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related field
- This role will require occasional travel and in-person meetings. Striim, Inc. currently requires that all employees who are required to travel for work, as well as employees and visitors to its office, are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.
