Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior VFX Artist to join the CD PROJEKT RED team dedicated to crafting the studio’s first-ever original IP and video game, codenamed Project Hadar. We believe the universe we are creating is one bursting with limitless potential, and we want you to help us broaden and utilize it, making sure it not only matches gamers’ high expectations set by past CD PROJEKT RED titles but exceeds them.

In this role you will be responsible for creating high-quality real-time visual FX for characters, environments and gameplay. You will also help refine the VFX pipeline, optimize visual effects for performance and maintain high-quality standards.

Daily Responsibilities

• Creating high quality real-time visual effects.
• Prototyping, researching, and integrating particle effects in Unreal Engine 5.
• Collaborating with multiple disciplines to support gameplay, characters, cinematics, environments, with VFX requirements.
• Working with directors and Production to estimate and plan work.
• Researching new and innovative workflows, push what is possible in VFX.
• Ensuring VFX content is performant and within budgets.
• Mentoring other VFX artists, and helping build an environment of creativity, trust, and excellence.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently to identify and own work, deliver results.
• At least 6 years of experience in the gaming industry.
• Working knowledge of Unreal Engine pipelines.
• Experience with both real time and baked simulation.
• Knowledge with standard 3D software: Max, Maya or Blender.
• Solid portfolio demonstrating expertise.
• Understanding of PBR concepts.
• Understanding of rendering techniques, real-time shaders and lighting.
• Understanding of performance and optimization.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.

Nice to Haves

• Experience in procedural content creation in Houdini.

Working mode

• Relocation to Warsaw is required.
• Office-First: working primarily in the Warsaw studio in a full time or hybrid mode.
