Become one of our 34 International Trainees at Vattenfall. Each of the trainee positions is unique, linked to a department within a specific business area and a working location. This means that each position has its own specific responsibilities, challenges and matching profile.

Next to your personal development in this unique position, you will be enjoying one year of all we have to offer. Your trainee year will be filled with meetups with your international trainee team with likeminded individuals. You will be meeting up virtually to work on assignments and live during four seminar weeks where you will be visiting our power plants and growing your superpowers with a variety of trainings.

Your role as a Trainee – Digital Innovation & AI is to improve the advice we offer our retail customers to make their energy consumption sustainable with the end goal to reduce their CO2 footprint and energy costs. You do so by making it more personal, actionable and efficient with the use of generative AI and/or machine learning.

Your daily activities:

• Work with our development team, data scientists, product managers and marketeers to find ways for generative AI to significantly improve the sustainability advice we give to our customers;
• Evaluate the cost effectiveness of the improvements in order to come to a business case;
• Validate and improve the effectiveness of the AI based advice using analytics, customer feedback and conversation rates;
• Get stakeholders aligned on the business implications of the proposed solutions, i.e. privacy, security, finance, branding.

As a Trainee – Digital Innovation & AI powered sustainability advice you recognize yourself in the following:

• You have obtained an Academic degree within a relevant area (MBA, Business Analytics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or similair).
• You have a knack for and experience with AI technology: it’s basic workings, it’s opportunities and implications;
• Customer focus: you understand that the aim is to help our customers lower their footprint, technology is just an enabler;
• Strong communicator: once the technology solves our customers problem, we still need to make sure that it operates in line with our business goals and principles. This requires a good antenna for the various interests within the company and strong communication in getting them aligned;
• Collaboration gives you energy: designing the solution is the ‘easy’ part. It all comes down to implementation in close collaboration with a significant number of stakeholders with different expertise, viewpoints and communication styles.
• Fluent in English both verbal and written (Fluent in Dutch is perceived as an advantage).

You are our ideal trainee if you are a recent graduate with an academic degree and have maximum one year of work experience, or you graduate before September 2024. You are fluent in English. Skills in other world languages can be a merit. You are willing to relocate for possible assignments throughout the organization. And of course, you identify yourself with our principles: active, open, positive and safe.
