About the role

Overview

 The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will be responsible for assisting Project Managers and Sr. Project Managers through various project phases from schematic design to close-out, including construction contract administration, budget control, document organization, scheduling, project close-out and end user satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities

 

 Assists in maintaining Job Cost and Schedule statistics and helps in preparing regular project reports.--------------------------------------------------Assists in the completion of projects by the Rules & Regulations governing hospital facilities as required by JCAHO, DFS, CMS, OSHA, State Health Department, and local & state building and fire codes.--------------------------------------------------Assists in the process of maintaining project documentation to include, but not limited to, Approval Letters, Meeting Minutes, Project Scope Manual, Contract Documents & Specifications, Addenda items, Change Orders, RFI•s, Shop Drawings Submittals, Bulletin Drawings, Application for Payments & Invoices, Closeout Documents, As-Built Drawings and routine correspondence.--------------------------------------------------Assists with planning & coordinating project related disruptive activities that impact operations. These include, but are not limited • utility outages, noise, vibration, dust, etc. Disruptions are to be scheduled in accordance with the approved policies--------------------------------------------------Assists with the implementation of Preconstruction Risk Assessment (PCRA) and Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) prior to construction start. Helps to ensure that appropriate & complete implementation of Infection Control precautionary measures and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) are in enforce. Coordinates with Infection Control, Facilities Management and Safety Management Departments. Documents compliance and Field Observation Reports.--------------------------------------------------Conducts periodic site visits to inspect for compliance with the contract documents & quality. Maintains documentation and corrective action using Field Observation Reports.--------------------------------------------------Participates on project teams during development to formulate Project Scope, Budget and Schedule--------------------------------------------------Performs roles & responsibilities in full accordance with the approved Construction Management Guidelines while keeping projects on schedule, within budget and in accordance with the approved scope of work.--------------------------------------------------

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:

Required:High school diploma, Associate degree preferred. 

Preferred:2 year degree in Project Management or Construction Management, with experience in coordinating complex projects. 

 

EXPERIENCE:

Required:Minimum of 2 years coordinating complex projects. 

Preferred:Minimum 2 years experience as Assistant Project Manager working in Healthcare Construction.
