Job Description: Copiah-Lincoln Community College Workforce Education has an opening for a contract Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Instructor. Primarily responsible for providing 479 quality educational and clinical hours for program students. This position reports to the Workforce Program Coordinator and Dean of Workforce Education.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Duties and Responsibilities (includes but are not limited to):
Plans and provides in-person instruction to students;
Develops, implements, and evaluates student learning activities;
Provides a positive role model for the students, especially in areas of caring, respect for self and others, collegiality, ethical behavior, ethical reasoning, and strong work ethic (including responsibility, dependability, and accountability) and provides constructive feedback to students;
Demonstrates proper skills operations for students;
Oversees the safe operation and use of equipment when being used by students, ensuring that the college policies and standards are being adhered to;
Completes all necessary documentation for each student including, but not limited to, attendance forms and training;
Collaborates with the Workforce Program Coordinator on curriculum, supplies, and curriculum needs.
Instructional Duties and Responsibilities (includes but are not limited to):
Teach clinical tasks inclusive of taking vital signs, collecting patient medical history, and preparing patients for examinations;
Instruct students in providing adequate assistance to healthcare professionals as it pertains to healthcare procedures and treatments;
Provide instruction in presenting patient education as it pertains to medical conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care;
Provide instruction in performing basic laboratory tests and handling specimens;
Provide instruction in compliance with infection control protocols in maintaining a clean and organized health care setting;
Utilize classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaged classroom experience to students;
Ensure that each student has been presented with the material to successfully meet the learning objectives of each course within a student’s program of study;
Ensure that instructional materials and equipment are ready for student use, sufficient in quantity, are properly maintained, and are in working order prior to class time; and
Manage and facilitate clinical instruction through local healthcare providers.
QualificationsMinimum Job Requirements:
Registered Nurse with Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing
Experience in an acute care setting, med-surge, or ER/ICU
Unencumbered nursing license from Mississippi
Vast Knowledge of HIPPA rules and regulations
Proven experience working in a clinical setting with diverse patient populations
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
Compassionate demeanor and ability to provide exceptional patient care
Preferred (but not required):
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
Teaching experience in a health-related field
One (1) year of clinical experience as a registered nurse
