Our data teams are building a modern platform to power machine learning and complex analytics processing for strategic business decision-making capability.

As Vice President, Data Engineering you will lead the engineering teams responsible for evolving our data platform to support our ever-expanding data needs, as well as building end-to-end data solutions for vast customers of data (both internal and external). As our data leader in the company, you will work closely with business, product, engineering, and machine learning leaders to define data team roadmaps to shape our existing products and innovations on launching new products. 

What You’ll Do

• Set the vision and define the long-term strategy that will enable us to build best-in-class data capabilities at Glassdoor.

• Lead the design and development of the next generation for our Data Platform.

• Define our data platform roadmap, leading data engineering, data platform and data science to build a foundation that enables us to democratize access to data and empower decision making and data products.

• Build and lead teams of Data Engineers, Data Platform, DB Admins and Data Scientists.

• Work with partner teams (product, marketing, sales, etc) to derive insights from our data and find opportunities that can create step-function value for the business.

• Train and educate internal partners on data access, reporting, and analysis tools

• Ensure data teams deliver with high quality and predictability

What You’ll Bring

• A commitment to add  to our culture of DEI

• 10+ years of professional experience, including data platform, data science, analytics or data engineering. Proven track record in building and managing high-performance data science, data engineering and analytics teams. 

• Experience building data platforms for very large data that supports both data analytics, as well as data products that frequently use machine learning

• Strong background working with cloud (AWS, Google Cloud) data technologies such as data transport pipelines (Kinesis, Kafka), Storage (Snowflake, BigQuery, Hadoop, S3), compute engines and workflow orchestration tools .

• Expertise data modeling low latency data sets at scale

• Understand how to organize data teams to meet the ever-growing data demands of a scaling organization

• Familiarity with reporting and data access tools (Tableau, Looker, etc)

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, building strategy while executing tactics, including hands-on contributions.

• Proven track record of collaboration with a variety of decision-makers to drive impact.

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Statistics or similar area. Master’s and/or Doctoral degree preferred.

Compensation and Benefits 

Base Salary Range*:  $278,800.00- $418,200.00 ++

*Glassdoor base salaries are targeted to the market 75th percentile for technical roles and the 65th percentile for non-technical roles. In other words, 65-75% of comparable organizations in our industry will pay less.

Annual Bonus Target**: 30%

**Bonuses are paid in 6-month intervals, aligning with bi-annual performance reviews
