The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Physical Plant Supervisor 3. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community.

Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Communicates regularly and provide status updates on all open projects and work requests with the Physical Plant Director and Administrator. Have tracking mechanism to show start/end dates of internal work requests and start and end dates of facility improvement projects completed by contractors. Provide oversight of internal work requests, ensuring work requests are being completed timely, to a high-quality standard.
• Ensures the work request system is updated with statuses, including uploading quotes, receipts, receivers/ invoices, and Purchase Orders (PO). Problem solving issues that arise within internal work requests. Identify barriers and elevate concerns regarding work requests/project completion to the Physical Plant Director and Administrator.
• Serves as a primary point of contact for all contractors and vendors, ensures contractors and vendors are aware of and following facility policies and procedures related to facility entry and environmental safety for residents and is responsible for 24-hour emergency response, by responding, coordinating direct reports, or utilizing contracted vendors.
• Responsible for independently overseeing facility improvement projects under $5000 completed by a contractor, including defining the scope of work and providing oversight of the project through completion; additionally, this position will coordinate with the Physical Plant Director (OFM) for any facility improvement projects exceeding $5000.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal rules and regulations regarding Life Safety and Emergency Preparedness for Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID). Ensure routine inspections are conducted, follow up/corrective action is completed when deficiencies are identified. May have member contact while inspecting.
• Lead and supervise a team of a PPS 1 & 2, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and efficient work practices. Monitors staff schedules, hires, trains, directs, and evaluates direct reports to ensure qualified and competent staff are capable of meeting performance standards; completes all personnel action required including appraisals; reviews and approves timecards.
