Responsibilities

The Nursing Administration Secretary is responsible for the clerical/receptionist and records keeping functions on the off shifts and weekends in the nursing office. Serves as a receptionist. Screens telephone calls, visitors and personnel and relays messages. Records employee’s absent calls.Received and distributes mail within the office. Photo copies materials as directed and distributes and/or posts notices as directed. Maintains tidiness of area around her/him. Participates in telephoning personnel for staff coverage, upon direction of the Nursing Director/Administrative Supervisor. Process requests and schedules for Private Practice Nurses and Aides. Distributes checks to personnel and notices that are pertinent for the employee. Obtains supplies for unit from store room when necessary. Obtains old medical records chart when necessary. Maintains the confidentiality of office correspondence and records and office discussions.

Qualifications

Minimum 1-2 years clerical experience. High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1-2 years clerical experience required.
