About the role
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Product Designer to join our team at ART19, Amazon's SaaS platform for podcast creators, publishers, and advertisers. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our leadership to define the strategic design vision and drive innovation for our industry-leading platform. ART19's mission is to create the premier platform for all aspects of podcasting, catering to a diverse range of users - from independent creators to large enterprises. Your focus will be on developing a seamless, intuitive, and empowering experience that enables our users to succeed. If you have a passion for designing exceptional digital products and a track record of driving tangible impact, we'd love to hear from you.
Key job responsibilities
As Sr. Product Designer, you will establish overarching design strategy, execute fundamental design research, and lead design innovation activities. You are an outcome-oriented designer with a strong foundation in UX methodology, razor-sharp interaction design, and systems thinking. You also possess a bold and creative outlook using data, trends, and intuition to evolve design practices and uncover new product opportunities to delight customers. Alongside your UX prowess, we seek a designer who inspires cross-functional partners to build bar-raising experiences through effective communication and relationship-building.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the design for new experiences and improvements of existing experiences while planning and defining strategy for the direction of future experiences, all the way from concept to final implementation.
- Clearly and persuasively communicate, specify, and describe design concepts, solutions and needs to senior executives.
- Quickly iterate on multiple interactive design solutions and work through details.
- Advocate for your design solutions by leveraging diverse inputs that influenced the design decisions including customer and business goals, usage data, and research findings.
- Develop high level and/or detailed storyboards, mock-ups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Deliver work that's not only customer-friendly, aesthetically engaging, but which also produces results.
- Work collaboratively with engineers and product managers to create amazing user experiences that delight customers.
- Assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in user research and assessing performance metrics.
- Contribute to the group’s shared knowledge of user-centered design and research methodologies.
- Use humor, creativity, and positive energy to maintain personal and team momentum.
A day in the life
In this role, you will have a significant opportunity to define and drive design strategy within ART19's platform. You will be responsible for building and relentlessly advocating for best-in-class CX (user interface design, branding, interaction models, prototypes, etc.) and seeing your design through to launch; then using data to iterate and improve. You will need a strong technical design understanding as you solve system and UX problems simultaneously.
About the team
At ART19, our design team is dedicated to revolutionizing podcasting by creating a platform that is seamless, intuitive, and empowering for all users, from independent creators to large enterprises. We are committed to simplicity, innovation, and personalization, ensuring that our tool not only meets but anticipates the needs of our users. By focusing on ease of use and constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, we aim to provide innovative solutions that empower our users and make them feel supported and confident.
We are a team of builders. We all roll our sleeves up and get our hands dirty. We leave egos at the door and push each other to do our best work. If you're the type of designer that is excited about your teammates successes, learn from them, and push harder, we're the spot for you.
- 7+ years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), a related field, or 4+ years of additional experience
- Knowledge of usability principles and techniques
- You have a good foundation of code and engineering capabilities and are able to execute lightweight coding of prototypes and some front-end work.
